Why Enjoy Happy Hour at Aloy Modern Thai?

Visit our Thai restaurant for a healthy modern twist on Thai food — with ingredients that are always organic and locally sourced whenever possible. We’re extremely picky about the ingredients we use for all of our dishes; not just any ingredients will do! We’re proud that our kitchen uses:

  • Authentic Thai spices imported directly from Thailand
  • Superior ingredients like beef, tofu, and organic fresh spring mix
  • Healthier rice bran oil, in most of our dishes

Our Thai chef has been the backbone of our kitchen and ensures the high standard of our foods not only meets the expectations of our customers but also exceeds them.

There’s no better place in Denver to enjoy real, authentic Thai cuisine with a modern look and a healthy feel. We put our heart and soul into every dish and every drink, and we’re constantly reintroducing our roots with authenticity in every bit of our traditional cooking!

You can taste the difference when you dine with us at Aloy Modern Thai, whether it’s during Thai Happy Hour or any other time of the day.

Our chef creates and prepares dishes that offer a taste of modern-day Thailand. Focusing on fusion flavors and using cooking techniques straight from Bangkok’s most progressive restaurants, Aloy Modern aims to reinvent how you experience and enjoy Thai food.

Contemporary Thai Fusion Cuisine

Aloy Modern Thai proudly serves sustainable modern Thai cuisine that represents the perfect balance between honoring traditional Thai dishes and introducing a local Denver flair to them. Our fusion techniques combine slow-cooked Thai food with locally sourced Colorado lamb and local vegetables.

The unique concept that sisters Bo Bean and Arisa Chanchokpong first brought to Denver is one that is both traditional and modern, upscale and casual. With healthier farm-to-table meals and a down-to-earth sophistication that is uniquely theirs, the sisters welcome you to relax and enjoy Thai Happy Hour at Aloy Modern Thai.

We invite you to also visit Aloy Modern Thai during our regular hours and experience a lunch menu, dinner menu, and special dishes that are unlike any you’ve experienced before.

Whether you’re a long-time enthusiast of Thai cuisine or are just being introduced to it, Aloy Modern Thai welcomes you to enjoy fusion cuisine that represents the very best of Bangkok and Denver together.

Our chefs specialize in creating dishes that cater to a wide variety of guests, including those who prefer vegetarian, gluten-free, seafood, or spicy options. Crafted by some of the best Bangkok chefs, our assortment of dishes will satisfy even the most discerning diner.

The Origin and History of the Happy Hour

You’ve certainly heard of happy hour before — and likely have been to more than a few. But where did this tradition begin, and why?

Was It from the U.S. Navy?

There are a few different theories, versions, and stories of the origin of happy hour, but most people believe that the U.S. Navy played a part in it.

In the early 1900s, an entertainment program formed each week aboard the USS Arkansas, and this program was dubbed “Happy Hour.” As time went by and word spread of this original happy hour, more ships began weekly entertainment programs, and by the end of World War I, the entire Navy was enjoying all kinds of happy hours.

Did It Have More to Do with Prohibition?

Another widely accepted story about the origins of happy hour involves the Prohibition era. Not long after alcohol was deemed illegal, people began gathering secretly at local speakeasies or private homes to enjoy cocktail hours. They would have a drink or two and relax before heading out to restaurants, which were not allowed to serve alcohol.

By the time Prohibition ended in 1933, happy hours were all the rage. As a marketing tactic to boost business, many restaurants, taverns, bars, and eateries of all kinds began offering their own happy hours.

During these events, discounted foods and drinks were offered. Before long, each restaurant was coming up with unique tempting offers and strategies to make their happy hours more enticing than those of their competitors.

Doesn’t Everybody Have a Happy Hour?

Did you know that not everyone loves a good happy hour? Currently, these little traditions are banned in several states, including Utah and Indiana. In Colorado, however, you are free to enjoy our Thai restaurant happy hours! At Aloy Modern Thai, we invite you to toast the day, enjoy a drink as you wind down, and relish a little bite to eat, too.
